Palo santo, known as "holy wood," is a fragrant wood used for spiritual purification, energy cleansing, and creating a calming atmosphere. It has been used for centuries by the Inca's and people of the Andes.

For Smudging (Energy Cleansing).  Light the stick. Use a match or lighter to ignite one end of the palo santo stick. Or hold over a candle.
Let it burn for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Allow the flame to burn for about 30 seconds, then gently blow it out so the stick is smouldering and releasing smoke.
Walk around your space.  Move through your space, gently waving the stick to allow the smoke to cleanse the area. Focus on areas that feel heavy or stagnant. You can also cleanse yourself by waving the smoke around your body, starting from your feet and working upwards.
Set an intention.  As you cleanse, set an intention for clearing negative energy and welcoming positive vibes.
Extinguish the stick. When finished, place the palo santo stick in a fireproof dish and let it extinguish naturally.

An alternative to sage for cleansing & removing negative energy from your home, work place or yourself.  Remember when cleansing to put your intentions into it.
